Rating for Serenity: 4.5 stars out of 5.

Sort of on a whim, Julie and I decided to watch the movie Serenity this past Sunday. To my surprise, the film wildly exceeded my expectations of just being a regular science fiction movie. Serenity is actually the end to a TV series that was canceled on Fox, but had such a strong following that the studious were willing to make a movie to give it a proper farewell.

With very likable cast, good special effects, and a better storyline than the latest Star Trek movie, Serenity has everything except the big name or brand name needed to draw enough of an audience to legitimize a second film. This is a shame, because this movie is every bit as good as the latest Star Trek film, and better in many ways.

Anyways, I don’t want to spoil any of it, but if your feeling like a sci-fi flick for a change of pace, definitely rent or DL this movie, I was very pleasantly surprised.
