When “Scar Tissue” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers comes on when I’m driving on a sunny day, I feel like I’m back home in LA.

I know this is a very old song, but I don’t think that I’ve commented that Fireflies by Owl City is the gayest song of all time.
Greek people are idiots.
I am not naive, I know how difficult and impossible it is to get large masses of people to act in a halfway intelligent, but is it too much to ask to have them not act like a bunch of olive oil smelling retards.
For quick reference, Greece is essentially bankrupt for the reason that most countries go bankrupt, their GDP is disproportionate to what they spend for their civil servants, social...
The importance of sports broadcasting.
Here in Cincinnati, I heard a local radio guy talking about how ridiculous it is that some professional sports teams honor their local broadcaster with a world championship ring, given the fact that they never play a game.
To this, I have to say that I completely disagree. I believe in all seriousness, that the connection your local broadcaster has with your audience is worth more than any given...

I am singlehandedly keeping Subway Breakfast in...
In the last 2 weeks, I think I’ve had Subway Breakfast about 10 times. It is by 10x far away the healthiest fast food option for breakfast, and if it does go away, the only thing I’ll be stuck with is an Egg McMuffin from McDonalds. My biggest concern is that many Subways don’t have a drive through, which is killer in the morning (hell, most Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks have drive...

Our generation
I would not classify our generation’s music as particularly good. True, while we grew up in the golden era of rap music (Dre, Eminem, Pac, and to a lesser extend BIG), I am not entirely sure that much of any of our rock music will be listened to in 20 or 30 years like Classic Rock is listened to by many today. Other than Coldplay and Greenday, I am not sure any bands that formed in our...
A novel idea
Instead of your typical, Remember the Titans, the Express, or that not so great movie about the all black basketball team that went up against the all black texas team (I mean come on, who really has the advantage in that matchup?) type of films, I think we need to create a movie about a an all-white team winning a championship in football or basketball. I mean, think about it, a movie about the...

Maybe I have matured a little bit since I was 10.
I remember watching the Jazz versus the Bulls when I was a little kid and rooting for the Jazz to beat the Bulls. The Bulls, I had reasoned, had already won multiple titles, and I knew it would simply make the careers for John Stockton and Karl Malone to just win one title. My genuine desire to see the little guy win one blinded me to the fact that I was probably under appreciating the greatest...

142.8 million? really?
I’ve basically always hated the ways that movies “break box office records,” the insinuation is that more people have watched that movie it’s opening weekend than any other movie in history. So “New Moon” comes in third all time this weekend, as the third supposedly highest grossing opening weekend ever, which it’s really not. This same issue came up when...
I've always liked best buy.
I saw in consumer reports that Best Buy was rated pretty low on satisfaction, well below places like Costco and HH Greg for electronics and I found this pretty shocking. Granted I basically have stopped going to Best Buy since I was in College, but I can’t ever really remember having any bad experiences shopping there or with their return service. This makes me really wonder about some of...
already a crotchety old man
You know, I’ve lived most of my life believing that I’m a cynic. Well, I’ve come away with two quick thoughts on that over the course of this year. It’s been for me, by reasonable standards, not been a great year, so maybe I’m just in bad mood in general. The first thing I’ve begun to realize is that I’m probably not a cynic, otherwise I wouldn’t let...

for the love of the game...
So here’s something you should think about when you hear the all time annoying, “I love college sports so much better than the pros, in the pros, it’s all about the money”.
Now, let me concede that the college game is better in some ways, the college atmosphere is unique, and there is something about relative unknowns beating top college programs. Neither of these exist in...

Being a libertarian makes you....
On a recent facebook quiz of mine, I asked the question, what political affiliation do I most closely align with? the correct answer to that question was libertarian, but a few who took that quiz reasonably guessed that I was a democrat. This makes a lot of sense given some of the views I have, my hatred of the bush administration, and my intense hatred of Fox News. I made it a point in college to...
I don't like Brett Favre
There’s one thing that my mind cannot comprehend when it comes to Brett Favre. I find the man love that is thrown his way to be almost like a Greek style homosexual attraction. Too macho to admit their admiration of his looks, play style, and wrangler commercials, every analyst I see makes excuses for the fact that not only is he way over the hill, but that his played well one year in the...

Is my gambling of choice, better than black jack, no-limit texas hold em, or slot machines, I find myself more excited at the start of every NFL season than I can ever potentially get for any other form of gambling that I’ve ever done. If you ever stop to think about most gambling you do, you’d probably never ever do any of those games if there wasn’t money on the line, but I did...
I find that..
I can’t bring myself to watch the daily show or colbert report anymore. I think that subconciously I can’t shake the feeling that I’m watching someone gloat now that the Dem’s are back in power. That, and part of me feels like if they were as enlightened and informed as they probably think they are, they’d tend to drift to the middle during times like these....

Something I miss
I’m not sure I will ever get it back someday, and I’m not really sure if it’s something that is true for most other people.. but I remember the days when I was younger, when I was good friends with people where I could be honest with them. Not 100% in things like “I hate your family members” or something along those lines, but when I grew up, I always felt that I...
Ugh..
So I got into my first real car accident today, I turned left and got my bumper ripped off by a mini van. I am fine, but it was a shitty experience none the less. I’m just glad that no one was hurt. Nothing like losing $600+ dollars in a split second. Also, I’ve got sick on monday, what a terrible terrible week so far. I had bitching I really do, I just feel like I want to.
sometimes I wonder
if the only thing this decade will be remembered for fashion-wise is women wearing sun glasses that are way too big, and people wearing t-shirts with way too many designs on them.. because thats really the thing that comes to mind for me.
idea
Julie and I tried making a spicy mayo using mayo and siracha, and I must say it tastes pretty good. It reminds me very closely to volcano hot sauce at taco bel.

Back to blogging for the short term at least.
As my ability to write has grossly eroded over the last few years of working, I figured one of the better things I could do was start blogging again. That’s not the only reason though, I also feel like I never get to talk to lots of people or let them know how I’m doing because… well I don’t. It’s not that I don’t like talking to anybody over the phone, I just...
